Situated in the heart of Orlando’s historic Eola Heights neighborhood, Eola General is a community hub for locals and a food and wine destination. Located in a longtime general store, it has become a collective of sorts, with La Femme du Fromage, Lake Meadows Naturals, Dixie Dharma, Wavelength Coffee, Buttermilk Bakery, and more.
For the wine selection here, I’ve gone heavy into the “natural” and raw wines and rounded out the list with organic and sustainable producers. If you’re going to “elevate” your food choices, why not do the same with your beverages? All the retail bottles are available for consumption on site with a $5 corkage or guests can choose from a by-the-glass list that features many organic and natural producers. As the building used to be a convenience store, the beer list still offers some macro producers (as package goods only) and a well appointed selection of craft beers, leaning towards local producers when appropriate.
